Palitronica's Technology to Protect Canada's Energy Supply Chain From Cyber Threats

Palitronica supplies cyber efforts with leading technology to prevent Counterfeit, Suspect, and Fraudulent Items entering Canada's energy market.

Kitchener, Ontario, August 13, 2021 — Palitronica is partnering with Bruce Power, Natural Resources Canada, and the University of Waterloo to develop enhanced cyber security systems to protect the supply chain in the Canadian energy sector.

Globalization of the supply chain, growing problems in part availability, and increased financial pressure have led to a drastic increase in Counterfeit, Suspect, and Fraudulent Items (CSFI) present in today's supply chain. The grey market has become the femme fatale to suppliers as it tempts with available parts but extremely high counterfeit rates – over 50% counterfeit in one case shown by Palitronica. This situation poses high risk to the safety and security of the final products when built into mission-critical applications such as nuclear power generation.

Bruce Power, operator of the world's largest nuclear facility, and the University of Waterloo, Canada's top-ranked most innovative university, will use Palitronica's CSFI sensor technology of the Anvil product line to deliver innovation to the energy sector. With support and oversight from Natural Resources Canada, the collaborators will assess safety-critical systems deeply embedded into the nuclear power generation process.

"We're proud that the project partners have chosen Palitronica's CSFI sensors; It confirms our leading technology and our commitment to innovation. As our daily lives depend on the power grid, we are thrilled to contribute to its safety and security." said Carlos Moreno, co-founder and CTO of Palitronica.
